People participation in sub-district living enhancement project (5 million baht for each sub-district): a case study of project of organic fertilizer production by baan neon tang rodfai community in pattaya city, chon buri province
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to investigate and compare a level of public participation in a 5-million baht-sub-district living enhancement project. It focused on a project of organic fertilizer production initiated by Baan Neon Tang Rodfai community, located in Pattaya City, Chon Buri Province. The subjects participating in this project were 194 people living in Baan Neon Tang Rodfai community in Pattaya City, Chon Buri Province. The instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire. The statistical tests used to analyze the collected data included frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation. To compare the means, the tests of t-test and One-way ANOVA were administered. The results of the study revealed that level of public participation was at the highest level. When considering each aspect of participation, the one in relation to receiving benefits was rated the highest, followed by the aspects relating to evaluation, decision-making, and implementation, respectively. In addition, based on the results from the comparisons, it was shown that there were statistically significant differences in the level of participation in the a project of organic fertilizer production initiated by Baan Neon Tang Rodfai community in Pattaya City, Chon Buri Province among the subjects who had different gender, age, occupation, educational level, amount of monthly income, position rank in the project at a significant level of .05. Finally no statistically significant difference was found in the level of participation in the project of organic fertilizer production initiated by Baan Neon Tang Rodfai community among the subjects who had different length of residency in the community.
