Greenhouse Design and Simulation for The Royal Project's Rose Cultivation
Abstract:
This thesis aims to develop the suitable climatic control techniques for cutting Dutch
rose greenhouse by using TRNSYS17 simulation program. The focused greenhouse
volume is 84.74 m3; it is located at the Huay Luek research station, Chiang-Mai. The
suitable temperature and humidity for cultivating this rose is 30 C and 90%,
respectively. The ambient temperature and humidity are in the range of 8.1-38.9 C and
30-100 %, respectively. From the simulation results, the combination of fogging, heat
pump and shading system can control temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse
in the range of 28-32 C and 90%, respectively. The heat pump runs for 2 modes:
heating and cooling. By applying this system, the average coeficient of performance of
the heat pump running in heating and cooling mode are 4.32 and 3.47, respectively. The
average electricity consumption is 273.57 kWh/month. The validation was performed
by comparing the result between the real greenhouse and the model. The model gives
the result with the mean absolute error of temperature and humidity of about 3.56% and
4.81%, respectively. The total capital cost, payback period and discount rate of return
are 35,000 baht, 2.27 years and 55%, respectively.
