The influence of perceived organizational climate, employee engagement and job satisfaction on organizational citizenship behaviors: a study of staffs of the new institutes of higher education in Bangkok metropolitan region
Abstract:
The objective of this research was to study the influence of perception of organizational climate, job satisfaction, organizational engagement and staffs different performance lines on organizational citizenship behaviors of personnel education in Bangkok metropolitan region. A sample consisted of 387 staff working in the new educational institution of Bangkok Metropolitan region, consisting of 187 academic line and 200 support line. The statistical methods used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Multiple Regression with enter.
The results showed that most of the respondents were female, 20-30 years of age, bachelors degree holders, a monthly income of between 20,001-25,000 baht, and less than 5 years of work experience as university supporting staff. Their perception of organizational climate, organizational engagement, job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior were shown to be at a high level.
It also revealed that their perception of organizational climate had no effect on organizational citizenship behavior. However, their organizational engagement and job satisfaction correlated positively with organizational citizenship behavior. A forecasting equation could be written as Ŷ=0.908+0.494x2 +0.253x3 and both variables accounted for 59.8% prediction of behavior. Moreover, different performance lines affected the organizational citizenship not differently at 0.05 level of statistical significance.
