Abstract:
The purposes of the research were to study satisfaction with public service for elderly at Na Yai Am Sub-district Administrative Organization, Chanthaburi Province and to compare five aspects of satisfaction with public service for elderly of people categorized by gender, age, education level and income. The five aspects included fair service provision, prompt service provision, adequate service provision, continual service provision, and progressive service provision. These were considered independent variables. Questionnaires were used as the instrument for data collection. The sample group consisted of 267 people using the public service for elderly in Na Yai Am Sub-district Administrative Organization, Chanthaburi Province. The sample size was calculated by Yamane Formula (1970). The statistics used for data analysis consisted of percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and One-way ANOVA. The findings revealed that the elderly had high level of satisfaction with public service for elderly at Na Yai Am Sub-district Administrative Organization, Chanthaburi Province. When each aspect was considered, it was found that the respondents were satisfied with prompt service provision at the high level, and this ranked the first. This was followed by adequate service provision, continual service provision, and fair service provision. In addition, all of these aspects were satisfactory at the high level. Finally, progressive service provision was satisfactory at the high level, but it ranked the last. From the test of hypotheses, it was found that people with different gender had no difference in the satisfaction with the public service for the elderly at Na Yai Am Sub-district Administrative Organization, Chanthaburi Province. However, people with different age, education level, and income had difference in the satisfaction with the public service for the elderly at Na Yai Am Sub-district Administrative Organization, Chanthaburi Province at the statistical significance level of 0.05.
