Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to investigate the problems, advantages and satisfaction ofgraduate students of King Mongkuts University of Technology Thonburi over the internet network,and to compare the problems on internet access of the students from each faculty. This surveyresearch is conducted by means of questionnaire which completed by 1077 graduate students ofKing Mongkuts University of Technology Thonburi, inquiring about the problems, advantages andsatisfaction of the internet access. This research demonstrates that the problems are resulted fromobsolete and unfuctional hardware and from unupdated software, including inadequacy of internetskill of users. Another problems are understaffed and limited capacity of internet service rooms,more specifically, whenever the problems arise, internet technicians are not sufficiently available for giving advice to the users. In addition, a communication system can cause difficulty and delay inconnecting the internet due to the limited telephone lines and low bandwidth. Besides, Englishlanguage usage is a barrier that the users have to encounter as well. Most advantage of internetpresented in this finding is on the grounds that the users can search a variety of knowledge, data andnews as well as correspond through e-mail, leading to self-learning. In view of users, thesatisfaction gained from the internet is based on the fact that the users can search and easily accessthe information for academic purposes while enjoying vivid graphics. The comparison findingreveals that overall aspects of internet access problems of the students from each faculty aresignificantly different.
