Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study and compare the operational preparation for entering ASEAN community of school teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 32 as perciered by teachers classified by their work experiences, school sizes and learning strands. The samples were 345 teachers, selected by using the table of Krejcie and Morgan and a multi-stage random sampling method. The instrument used in this study was a 3-part questionnaire including checklist, 5-rating scale and open-ended form with its reliability value of .98. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean and standard deviation. The hypotheses were tested by using independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance. The research results revealed as follows:
1. The operational preparation for entering ASEAN community of the school teachers as perciered by teachers in overall and each aspect was at a high level. The values, morality and ethics promotion was ranked first, followed by management of welfares and assistance of students while the preparation of learning plan management was found at the lowest level.
2. The operational preparation for entering ASEAN community of school teachers under the secondary educational service area office 32.
2.1 The operational preparation for entering ASEAN community by teachers classified by work experiences and school sizes both in overall and each aspect was not different.
2.2 The operational preparation for entering ASEAN community as perciered by teachers, classified by learning strands in overall was not different. Social study, religion and culture with the highest average. When considering each aspect, it was found statistical significant differences at .05 level in aspects of the resources development and utilization for learning, learners life and professional development, and welfare provision and learners support. In contrast the rest aspects were not different.
