Abstract:
This independent study aims to explore; 1) personal factors affecting the quality of work
life, 2) work environment and work-life balance influencing the work life.
The samples of the study were two hundred operation officers of a construction company
in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The stratified random sampling method was conducted. The
analytical statistics used in this study were descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage,
mean, and standard deviation as well as inferential statistics including One-way ANOVA, Least
Significant Difference, and Multiple Linear Regression, at a significance level of 0.05.
The results revealed that most of the respondents ranged from 31-35 years old had a
bachelors degree, monthly income of 20,001-25,000 baht, and work experience of 1-3 years. The
influential determination indicated that work environment - both physical and social - had high
influence, whereas work-life balance - family, financial and mind - had the highest influence,
work-life balance in terms of working and timing also had high influence. The hypothesis testing
revealed that age had an effect on quality of work life in terms of safety condition, opportunities of
advancement and development of ability, and social recognition. Overall, income had effects on
quality of work life in terms of social recognition; work experience had an effect on quality of work
life in terms of fair compensation and social recognition; physical and social work environment had
influence on quality of work life overall; and work-life balance in terms of finance and mind had an
influence on quality of work life overall.
