A Study of the Annual Planning Performance Process of the Primary Schools under the Offiice of Buriram Provincial Primary Education Commission : An Academic Administration Case Study
Abstract:
This study aimed at investigating and comparing the four aspects of the annual planning performance; academic administration, academic development and support, teaching and learning, and academic administration evaluation. The variables studied were sex, age, education level and length of service. The population studied includes 844 academic head teachers in the primary schools under the office of Buriram Primary Education, of whom 422 were selected through the simple random sampling. A locally developed instrument was developed and administored, and 395 questionnaires were returned. The statistical techniques for analyzing the collected data were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The t-test with a significance of .05 was used to test the hypothesis. The result were as follows :
1.As a whole, the planning of academic administration and academic development and support was high, while the planning of teaching and learning and academic-administration evaluation was moderate.
2.Regarding sex, as a whole there was a significant difference at the level of .05. When aspects were considered , it was found that the planning of academic development and support and the planning of teaching and learning were significantly difference at the level of .05, while the planning of academic administration evaluation was significantly difference at the level of .01. Regarding age, as a whole there was a significant difference at the level of .05. When aspects were considered, it was found that there was a significant difference in the planning of academic development and support at the level of .05. Regarding level of education, as a whole there was a significant difference at the level of .05. When aspects were considered, there was a significant difference in the planning of teaching and learning at the level of .05.
