Abstract:
This thesis studies the ralationship between Modulus of Rupture and Unconfined CompressiveStrength of soil cement. Samples of the soil used in this study were collected from the two sources. Lateritic Soil from the right-handed side of the Highway Project of Ban Lao-Tha Yom at KM. 36+500 in Ubonrajatanee and Silty Sand from left handed side of route number2 the Department of Highway about 200 meters in Khon Khan province. Both soil samples investigated for physical and engineering properties and then mixed with the cement contentat the percentage of 3,5,7,8, and 10 at curing date 7,14 and 28 at moisture content lower than 2 percent of OMC, OMC, higher than 2 percent of OMC respectively. The unconfined compression test must be tested for unconfined Compressive Strength, UCS and MOdulus of Elasticity, E50 and the Flexural Test using simple beam with third point loading tests forModulus of Rupture, R.From this study, it was found that the relationship between Modulus of Rupture and Unconfined Compressive Strength of the samples were as follows.1) Lateritic Soil mixed cementOMC-2% ; R = 0.1389 UCSOMC % ; R = 0.2360 UCSOMC+2% ; R = 0.2520 UCS2) Silty Sand mixed cementOMC-2% ; R = 0.1843 UCSOMC% ; R = 0.2417 UCSOMC+2% ; R = 0.3237 UCS
