Abstract: This paper provides a brief overview of solar photovoltaic energy developments in the ASEAN region. While all available sources have been drawn-upon, the overview is by no means comprehensive. The recent formation of an ASEAN Network on Solar Energy should ensure that in future there is greater knowledge of individual activities and projects in the region. Critical to this will also be a store of knowledge of commercial activities in the solar field, as well as the development of testing and standards for solar equipment sold into, or developed in, the region. With the recent establishment of an International Centre for aoolications of solar Energy in Perth, this paper is perhaps timely is looking at developments in photovoltaics in Australia's near neighbours. To this end, a bibliography of papers covering activities in the region over the last decade is included as an annex. This list not only provides a clearer picture, it will also serve for those who might wish to explore further"
