Abstract:
The objective of this research is to analyze and to develop Management Information System(MIS) for plant event reporting management system for executive officers of ElectricalMaintenance Division (EMD). Since the executives are not familiar with the complicated computertechniques, the system has been designed to be user-friendly and to access power plant event reportfaster and easier than before through network technology system of Local Area Network (LAN) andprogram browser, already installed in an operating system of client computers.To develop this information system, the principles of design and analysis, combined with plantevent management theories, are hired. The system in this thesis is classified by the applications ofeach module, which are management report, executive report, maintenance index calculation,parameter setting & data searching, tools for development program in report forms, and summarytable. The reports are illustrated in readily comprehensible pattern with graphical presentation andmultimedia devices. The sampling data used in the test has been taken from the actual data in theplant event reports, basically processed and recorded in a server of EMDs information center.In evaluation the value of this system, data was collected by interview the executive officers andexpert users. The result shows that the target groups are very satisfied with its features to be able to reduce human tasks and to be operated with ease. Furthermore, conveniently, interface with outsidedata and other topics of power plant event analysis can be added to develop this system in other aspects.
