Public opinions towards the work of prevention and supression of narcotic drugs among police officers working for Paknamprasae Police Station, Amphoe Kleang, Rayong province
Abstract:
The purpose of this study was twofold. First, it aimed at examining public opinions towards the work of prevention and suppression of narcotic drugs among police officers working for Paknamprasae police station, Amphoe Kleang, Rayong province. Also, this study compared a level of public opinions towards the work of prevention and suppression of narcotic drugs of these police officers. The subjects participating in this study were 395 residents of four sub-districts, including 90 people from Paknamprasae Sub-district, 92 people from Pungrad Sub-district, 102 people from Khlongpoon Sub-district, and 111 people from Kongdin Sub-district. All of them were recruited by a simple random technique from the pool of people registered in a civil registration. The test of One-way ANOVA was administered to analyze the collected data. The results of this study revealed that the level of public opinions towards the work of prevention and suppression of narcotic drugs of the police officers working for Paknamprasae police station, Amphoe Kleang, Rayong province was found at a good level. Specifically, the aspect in relation to the suppression of narcotic drugs was rated at the highest level, followed by the aspects relating to the prevention of narcotic drugs, and the rehabilitation of drug addicts, respectively. Finally, it was found that, based on the test of research hypotheses, there were statistically significant differences in opinions towards the work of prevention and suppression of narcotic drugs among police officers, working for Paknamprasae police station, among the subjects with different age, occupation, area of residency, educational level, and amount of monthly income at a significant level of .01. The hypothesis was accepted.
