Abstract:
TheresearchpurposesweretostudyandcomparedesirablecompetenciesforteachersinbasicschoolswithintheOfficeofChanthaburiPrimaryEducationalServiceArea,classifiedbygender,position,workingexperienceandschoolsize.Thesamples of this research were 333 schooladministratorsandteachersinbasicschoolsundertheOfficeofChanthaburiPrimaryEducationalServiceArea.Theresearchinstrumentfordatacollectionwasasetoffive-ratingscalequestionnaire.Thestatisticsusedfordataanalysisincludedpercentage,arithmeticmean,standarddeviation, t-testand one-way analysis of variance.The research findings revealed that 1) The overall desirable competencies for teacher in basic schools under the Office of Chanthaburi Primary Educational Service Area were ranked as the high level. 2)The comparison of overall desirable competencies for teachersin basicschools withinthe Office of Chanthaburi Primary Educational Service Area, classified by gender, position andschool size, wasdifferent at .01significant levelstatistically. 3)Therewas nosignificant difference statistically when comparing the overall desirable competencies for teacher in basic schools under the Office of Chanthaburi Primary Educational Service Area, classified by working experience.
