Abstract:
This study aims to investigate in comparing the use of Vernonia cinerea and lime for reduce the smoking craving. The questionnaire was employed to undertake with 24 sampling, which included two groups of the study, the sampling in each group had to use Vernonia cinerea mixed with warm water and cutting the lime in small portion. Use them after meal for 8 weeks. In addition, the basic premise behind the pretest-posttest design encompasses obtaining measure of the outcome of the reducing of smoking craving and altering quantities of cigarette usages.
The findings shown that the samplings can reduce smoking craving and a number of cigarette usages by using Vernonia cinerea and lime. In addition, the test of statistics demonstrated a level of statistical significance. However, this study also compared between two groups of samplings (Vernonia cinerea vs lime used). The results presented that there was significant differences among two groups. The samplings with applying Vernonia cinerea were more likely to reduce smoking craving and the number of cigarette usages than sampling with using lime.
