Abstract:
Hydrocarbon process is very important in petroleum refinery plant because it canconvert the heavy molecule oil which is low value into the lighter products which is highvalue. As a result, the profit of refinery is also increased. In this research, themathematical models of hydrocracking process were developed in order to predict theyield and properties of products. In this research, two mathematic models were developed. The first model wasdeveloped by using the hydrocracker database which come from many refineries. Thismodel will use the gasoline product yield API, and K of feedstock to be the independentvariable in order to predict the yields and properties of products. In the other hand, thesecond model was developed by using the kinetic equations from the experiment ofhydrocracking of gas oil. The important operating parameters which are temperature andspace velocity were use to be the input value in order to calculate the percent conversionspace velocity were use to be the input value in order to calculate the percent conversionyield and properties of each products. Then, the two mathematical models are developedby excel program. These two models can be used to not only predict the yields andproperties of product but also do sensitivity analysis in order to see trend of varying.Furthermore, these two mathematic models will be combined with the theory part ofhydrocracking process in order to develop the web-based module of hydrocrackingprocess which can be used to train the operator.
