Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to examine and compare a level of opinions towards quality of
work life among police officers as classified by personal information, including work rank, age, educational
level, amount of income, and work length. The data were collected from 62 police officers who worked for
Pong Nam Ron Police Stations. The test of t-test was administered to compare the differences between
independent variables with two groups; and the test of One-way ANOVA was used to compare the differences
among independent variables with three groups onwards.
The results of this study revealed that the subjects expressed a high level of opinions towards
quality of work life. When considering each aspect of quality of work life, the one in relation to hygiene
working condition was rated the highest, followed by the aspects relating to rights and duties of personnel
working for the organization, integration of organizational society, fair compensation, potential development
and use, continuous job advancement, relationship between work and personal life, working life and society,
respectively. All of these aspects of quality of work life were rated by the subjects at a high level, except for that
of rights and duties of personnel working for the organization which was rated at the highest level of opinion.
Based on the results from the comparisons, it was shown that non-commissioned police officers had
a higher level of quality of work life than that of commissioned police officers. The subjects, aged 30-40
onwards had a higher level of quality of work life than that of their counterparts, aged 40-50 onwards and below
30, respectively. Also, the subjects, holding a bachelors degree, had a higher level of quality of work life than
that of those holding diploma/ lower /higher vocational certificate, and higher than a bachelors degree.
Furthermore, the subjects, earning 15,000-25,000 baht, had a higher level of quality of work life than that of
those earning 25,000-35,000 baht, less than 15,000 baht, and 35,000 baht onwards. Finally, the subjects having
a work length more than 10 years had a higher level of quality of work life than that of their counterparts with a
work length of 5-10 years, 1-5 years, and less than 1 year, respectively
