Abstract:
To compare the teachers', principals' and supervisors' expectation on the effectiveness of the 1978 Primary School Curriculum in Works Education, in order to improve the 1978 Curriculum. The in-strument used in this study was a set of questionnaires which had been constructed, tested, and improved by the researcher. This set of questionnaires was divided into three parts; the objectives and evaluation, the learning concepts and, the contents and activities. The improved questionnaire was being used with 46 teachers, 22 principals and 19 supervisors. The data from the ninety-seven percents of questionnaires were collected and analyzed by Mean and standard Deviation. About Objectives and Evaluation in the curriculum, teachers, principals and supervisors agreed that they were already clean well-stated, and useful to the learners. Besides, most of the objectives suited the learners' interests and could be mostly achieved by them. Moreover, the teachers could organize and evaluate the learning activities without much difficulty. According to the opinions of teachers, prin¬cipals, and supervisors, there were only few items that needed to be improved. About learning Concepts in the curriculum, teachers, principals and supervisors agreed that they were very important and useful to the learners. These learning concepts suited well with the school philosophy and were able to help develop and improve the students' social development and learning achieve¬ment. Moreover, these concepts help teachers get same idea in the teaching and make teaching easier and direct to the object¬ives. However, these learning concepts still needed some improvement as the data indicated that most teachers still felt unsure about their understanding and more help was asked for. About Concepts and Activities, teachers, principals, and supervisors agreed that all of them were necessary, useful to the learners, and suit the learners' interests. The quantity of the contents was proper and the organization of the activities was not too hard to do.
