Abstract:
Earthwork in highway engineering requires considerable amount of calculation and repetition work and involve large amount of construction drawing. Nowadays all these work can be tackled effectively and quickly by the aid of computer and leave the engineer to concentrate on other more important work. In this study, a highway engineering computer programme called MOSS was tested and the road section under tested was from Pattalung to Trang from 37 + 425.00 station to 38 + 824.99 station. Apart from the above mentioned work, MOSS is capable to tackle more complex highway design such as the design of interchange and visually presented the work in 3-D form. This capability is of usefulness to the engineers who can carefully analyze their work and ascertain its visual impact on the nearby environment. In addition of highway work MOSS can be employed for other work such as airport, railway, water work as well as mining.
