Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to analyze the characteristics of Chulalongkorn University Master of Education theses in Elementary Education from the academic years 2513 to 2526. Three hundred and forty-four maters theses in Elementary Education were analyzed. The instrument used in this study was the checklist form which was constructed by the researcher. The masters theses in Elementary Education were analyzed according to types of research, types of specialized academic areas, types of research instruments, populations and/or sample, population or sample status, sample selection, population or sample location, statistics of data analysis, the style of related literature writing, the style of research discussion writing, and the style of suggestion writing. The data were analyzed by means of frequency and percentage. Results. 1. Most of the researchers who had conducted the masters theses in Elementary Education were women. 2. Most of the masters theses in Elementary Education were descriptive research and concerned with instructional material. The types of research instruments used were tests. 3. Most of the samples, and populations in the theses were students in primary schools. In selecting samples, most of the researchers used the purposive sampling method. Most of the population or sample location were in The Bangkok Metropolis, and the statistics used for data analysis in most of the theses was mean. 4. The related literature were presented in sequence according to the content. In writing research discussion, they presented the findings, quoted the theory of the findings in the past and rendering their own opinions in supporting the findings. Most of the style in writing suggestion was proposed advices for the readers application, practices or adaptation.
