Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the knowledge, attitude and risk behavior towards AIDS of high school students under the jurisdiction of the department of general education in Bangkok Metropolis. The subjects were 400 students, selected by multi-stage sampling. A questionnaire with content validity tested, was used for data collection. The datas were analyzed by percentage, mean and standard deviation. Finding showed that: 1. Most of the students, knowledge towards AIDS were at moderate and high level (45.75% and 44.75%) (X̅ = 11.92, SD = 2.08). Some still misunderstood in the items of 1.1 Healthy persons would not get AIDS-infected. 1.2 AIDS-infected persons were feeble and disabled. 2. Most of the students attitude towards AIDS were at moderate level (59.75%). More than half of subjects agreed to sex experience. And one-third of subjects did not accept that the revelation of AIDS-infected persons could act as AIDS prevention. 3. Most of the students did not involve in risk behavior such as going to red-light-district, narcotic addiction, homosexual of heterosexual. And boys had the risk behavior more than girls.
