Abstract:
The objectives of this study were to compare learning achievement between pre-test and post-test with the criteria and study the attitude towards Science of Grade 6 students by using the inquiry process in local learning resources. The sample group of this study was 1 class of 24 Grade 6 students who were studying in semester 2, academic year 2012, Charoensuksa Primary School, Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Area Office 5, selected by Cluster Random Sampling method. The instruction was done for ten hours by the researcher on the topic of Life Relationship using the inquiry based approach in local learning resources. The tools in the study were lesson plans using the inquiry process in the local learning resources, learning achievement test towards Science with the reliability at 0.82 and the attitude test towards Science with the reliability at 0.88. The statistics used for data analysis were Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation and t-test (t-test dependent).The findings were as follows: Learning achievement from post-test of Grade 6 students learned by the inquiry process in local learning resources on the topic of Life Relationship was higher than learning achievement from pre-test, and learning achievement from post-test passed the criteria as 75 % with statistically significance at the 0.05 level. The attitude towards Science was at a high level.
