Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the results of using the numeral 1-10 exercises for mathematical readiness development of Kindergarten students 1, in the second semester of academic year 2012, Watnamdaeng (Kiao-Utid) School under Samutprakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2. Twenty Kindergarteners 1 were drawn as samples by simple random sampling. The sample group was treated by using the numeral 110 exercises for mathematical readiness development which has 12 lessons. Each lesson was applied once a week and it took 12 weeks to complete the data collection. The exercises include reading, coloring, drawing and writing numbers in each lesson. Statistics used for this study include percentage, average, Standard Deviation, and t-test.
The results revealed that
1. The efficiency of the 110 exercises for mathematical readiness development was 81.25/89.00 which corresponds with 80/80 provided criterion.
2. The Kindergarteners readiness on learning mathematics after learning by using the 1-10 exercises was significant higher than before learning at .01 level of significance (before learning: = 4.50, S.D. = 1.43; after learning: = 8.90, S.D. =0.45).
