การศึกษาการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง และการรับรู้ปัจจัยส่งเสริมประสิทธิภาพ การบำบัดของผู้เข้ากลุ่มให้คำปรึกษาเปรียบเทียบระหว่างกลุ่มให้คำปรึกษาแบบต่อเนื่อง และกลุ่มมาราธอน :A Study of Self-esteem and Participants' Perception of Therapeutic Factors in Group Counseling : A Comparison Between the Ongoing and Marathon Group
Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to examine the participants' self- esteem and perception of therapeutic factors of two different counseling groups, the ongoing and the marathon. The subjects were 30 psychology- student volunteers, who enrolled in a group process course at Ramkhamhaeng University. They were randomly assigned to three groups of 10 students each:a control group and two experimental groups, i.e. ongoing and marathon. The ongoing group received 10 two-hour treatment sessions held twice a week for a total period of 5 weeks, and the marathon group received the same 20-hour treatment running for 2 days and 2 nights. The control group, on theother hand, received no treatment. Both experimental groups were conducted by a leader and a co-leader who had been trained as group facilitator. The Ryden Self-esteem Inventory: Adult Form was used to measure the self- esteem and the Yalom's 60-item curative factor questionnaire was used to measure 12 therapeutic factors. A pre-test and post-test control group design was used for a pre- and post-treatment comparison. The results of this study were as follows:The post-test scores of both experimental groups on self-esteem significantly higher than pre-test scores at .05 levels. When compared with the control group on self-esteem, the post-test scores of the ongoing group were also higher at .05 levels of significance. However, no such significant differences were observed in the marathon group. At the end of the experiment, the ongoing and marathon groups ranked therapeutic factors that they considered as most and least helpful somewhat different. However, "Universality" and "Existential Factors" were the two factors that both groups ranked the higher. And "Self-understanding" was the only therapeutic factor that appeared to be significantly difference at .05 levels by comparing therapeutic factors between two groups with t-test.
