Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study chemical compounds of crude extracts from Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn., 2) to study the appropriate ratio of crude extracts from between Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. for tyrosinase inhibition, 3) to develop a facial washing gel derived from crude extract of Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. and 4) to develop training materials on how to develop a facial washing gel derived from crude extract from Naringi crenulata(Roxb.) Nicolson and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. The extraction method was done by the use of dried Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and dried Coix lacryma-jobi Linn and soaked with ethanol. After the maceration extraction, total phenolic, total tannin and flavonoid were examined. TLC fingerprints were used to analyze the major components. The studies of the tyrosinase inhibition activity from the crude extraction from Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. were focused by the variation of the ratios between Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. The optimum tyrosinase inhibition results were recorded. The optimum ratio of Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. was used as the starting material to develop a facial washing gel. Both physical and chemical properties such as colour, smell, occurrence of bubbles and the acid alkaloids were tested. The research results were used to develop the practical training material about the development of a facial washing gel derived from crude extract of Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and dried Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. The workshop was done for 30 students of Science Program, Faculty of Education, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage. The satisfaction with the training and the comparison of the knowledge before and after training was carried out. The results showed as follows:1) The crude extracts from Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) Nicolson and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. had total phenolic values at 55.80 and 47.99 µg/mL, respectively and total tannin value at 42.24 and 27.61 µg/mL, respectively. There were steroids-terphene, flavolnoids and alkaloid in the chemical components in crude extract of Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) and there were steroids-terphene and flavolnoids in the crude extract of as well as in the Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. 2) The crude extract showed the inhibition efficiency of tyrosinase with the IC50 0.28 mg/mL. The ratio of the crude extract could inhibit tyrosinase was 1: 1 with the IC50 0.18 mg/mL.3) Some physical and chemical properties of the facial washing gel were red -brown, strong smell extracts, easy to generate bubble in water, and pH value of the solution was 6.7. 4) The result of the workshop training material development about using the crude extract from Naringi crenulata (Roxb.) and Coix lacryma-jobi Linn. on how to be mixed in a facial washing gel was found that the training material had an Index of Congruence at 1.00. It also found that the test results of pre- training and post-training were different at the statistically significant level of .01 which showed that trainees got more knowledge. The result also revealed that the trainees were in the highest satisfied level from training. ( = 4.43, S.D. = 0.62)
