The development of e-learning course for theory of structure I by MIAP teaching method
Abstract:
The objective of the research is to develop e-learning course for Theory of Structure I by applying MIAP teaching method. The research tools consisted of two parts: e-learning course with simple learning resources and evaluation part. Simple learning resources for e-learning course consisted of power-point presentations, videos, information sheets, operation sheets, job sheets, lab sheets and exercises sheets for practical exercises, and experimental units. Evaluation part consisted of learning achievement tests and evaluation forms for students and experts. The sampling group was 32 fifth-year students from the Department of Civil Engineering, Technological University (Dawei), Myanmar, 10 students for trial group and 22 students for real group. There were two group of experts, one group checked the IOC value and another group evaluated the quality of e-learning course. The quality assessment of e-learning course evaluated by one group of experts was found at a good level. The results showed that the efficiency of e-learning course E1/E2 was 91.58/96.14, attaining above 80/80 criterion. The posttest scores of the students were higher than the pretest scores at 0.05 statistical significance. The satisfaction of students on e-learning course was also found good. In conclusion, e-learning course can be used in teaching Theory of Structure I effectively and it helps make learning more enjoyable. In the future, some more advance technology can be added to enhance the learning outcome of the students in the classroom.
