Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the factors affecting the quality of the working life of the employees in Syndome Electronics Industry Company Limited. The sample included 140 participants. The research instrument used for collecting data was a questionnaire. The statistical methods used for the data analysis were: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, One way ANOVA and Sheffe's method, and Pearsons Product Moment Correlation coefficient. The findings showed that: 1. The overall quality of the working life of the employees was at a moderate level. When considering the average of each individual aspect,it was found that in decreasing order they were: environment, safety andhealth promotion, integration of social and collaborative behavior, adequateandfaircompensation, development of individual competencies, social relevance of work life, balance between work life and other aspects of life and employee rights. 2. The overall organizational commitment of employees as a whole was at the middle level. When considering found that the organizational commitment of employees was at a moderate level in all aspectsthe willingnessto devoteconsiderable effort, the confidence strongly, and the fervent desire, respectively. 3. The comparison of the different personal factors that affect the quality of working life, catagorized by gender, age and the level of education showed that; the difference between the overall aspects and each aspect was statistically significant at the 0.05 level. Comparisons done by the period of employment andtype of job revealed that the difference between the overall aspects and each aspect was notsignificantly different. 4.Thehypothesis testanalysis done using Pearsonscorrelation coefficients showed that theorganizational commitment of the employees was associated with the overall quality of working life. Relations were at a high level, as well as a variable(rxy=0.812) and were statistically significant at the 0.01 level.Considering each aspect individually revealed that all aspects of the quality of working lifewere associated with the organizational commitment. The variation in the relationship was statistically significant at the 0.01 level. 5. Further research is recommended. Studies should be conducted to idintify other factors that may influence the relationship between quality of working life and organizational commitment, or other factors that influence the quality of life of employees and other factors that contribute to organizational commitment.
