Abstract:
This thesis is a part of the field action research Project Element (c) (d) ; Task Analysis and Criterion Profiles of Teaching at the Primary Level, of which the writer is assigned as a research assistant. The mentioned project is done by research staffs from the Department of Elementary Education, Faculty of Education with the UNICEF financial support. Purposes: The Purposes of this study are as follows: 1.To check a model of task and criterion profiles for elementary school teachers with Teachers College Curiculum. 2. To survey teachers confidence in performing their work concerning task and criterion profiles for elementary school teachers. 3. To compare teachers confidence in performing their work before and after the in-service training. Procedures: 1. Two kinds of questionnaires were constructed to evaluate General and Professional Education, Technical Skills of Teaching, Attitudes and Values, and job Description. 2. The First questionnaires was used for checking the model with the curriculum of Tepsatri, Nakonsawan, Ayudtaya Teachers College; the second one was used for surveying the confidence of sixty-eight elementary school teachers in performing their work before and after the in-service training. 3. The obtained data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation and z-test. The conclusions were presented in tables with explanation. Findings: 1. The model of task and criterion profiles for elementary school teachers is similar to that of the Diploma Education Program; whereas the model is slightly different to that of the Bachelors Degree Program. 2. The result of z-test analysis were significantly different at the .01 level and at the other lower level. The teachers, on the average, gain more confidence in General and Professional Education, Technical Skills of Teaching, Attitudes and Values, and Job Description after the in-service training. 3. The hypothesis was tested and finally accepted.
