Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to explore approaches of warehouse storage layout of ABC Company in order to categorize each product positioning effectively and properly. Furthermore, it also aimed to reduce some complication in process of production and bring more convenience in product delivery. The research was applied in mixed methods: Document research, Qualitative research, and Action research and was conducted into 5 steps: 1) Focus group survey by presenting Fishbone analysis, 2) Data analysis by Document research, 3) Action research was investigated by Linear programming and ABC Analysis to categorize each product successfully, 4) Focus group by interviewing warehouse management employees and the top executives, and 5) Result confirmation by evaluating pre and post test results when the policy was made. The research result showed that products were categorized into 10 groups by Linear programming and Excel solver to localize the product positioning. For factors concerning importance in product in each category, the result also found that the average number of the day in May 2016 is counted as 2.75 days per month. Compared to the previous 4.20 days per month, we found that the deduction was 1.45 days per the average and this showed there were some cost saved especially warehouse storage 2 at 15,694.80 baht in May 2016.
