Abstract: วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัยครั้งนี้มี 2 ประการคือ เพื่อศึกษาการใช้และความต้องการในการใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดในด้านวัตถุประสงค์ ประเภท เนื้อหาและปริมาณ และเพื่อศึกษาปัญหาในการใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุด ของนักเรียนโรงเรียนมัธยม สังกัดกรมสามัญศึกษา ในกรุงเทพมหานคร ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่า นักเรียนใช้ทรัพยากรห้องสมุดประเภทหนังสือพิมพ์ภาษาไทยมากที่สุดโดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ในการอ่านเพื่อให้ทราบข่าวสารและเหตุการณ์ และหมวดวิชาที่นักเรียนใช้มากที่สุดคือหมวดวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ ส่วนในด้านความต้องการนักเรียนต้องการใช้ทรัพยากรประเภทหนังสือตำรา หนังสือวิชาการ และสารคดี ส่วนหมวดวิชาที่นักเรียนต้องการใช้มากที่สุดคือหมวดวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ ปัญหาที่นักเรียนประสบมากที่สุดคือ หนังสือเล่มที่ต้องการมักมีผู้อื่นยืมไป รองลงมาคือ เวลาเปิดทำการของห้องสมุดน้อยเกินไปและจำนวนหนังสือที่มีไม่เพียงพอ

Abstract: The objectives of this research are to study the use and need of library resources in the areas of : purposes, types, contents and quantities, and to study the problems of the use of library resources by the secondary school students under the Jurisdiction of the Department of General Education in Bangkok Metropolis. The results of the study are : 1) the library resources the students used the most are Thai newspapers with the main purpose of acquiring current information and events; 2) the library resources the students used the most is science; 3) the students need textbooks and notification books at high level; 4) the field of the resources they need the most is science. The problems the students face the most are that the books they want to use have already been borrowed from the library; too short working hours, and insufficient books.
