The development of problem - solving ability in mathematics proposition by incorporating cooperative learning TAI technique into KWDL technique for prathomsuksa 5 students
Abstract:
The research objectives were to 1) compare the students problem - solving skills in
mathematics proposition before and after studying with conventional approach, 2) compare the
students problem - solving skills in mathematics proposition before and after studying with TAI
technique and KWDL technique, and 3) compare the students problem - solving skills in
mathematics proposition between the experimental group and the control group.
The samples of this study were 60 Prathomsuksa 5 students studying at Watpapai School,
Saraburi province in the academic year 2/2015. Research instruments were 1) instructional plans based on
incorporating TAI technique into KWDL technique and instructional plans based on traditional approach,
2) evaluation form on analytical problem - solving propositional skills. The data were analyzed by
descriptive statistics including mean, standard deviation and dependent sample t-test.
The findings were as following: 1) the students posttest of problem - solving skills in
mathematics proposition studied by traditional approach was higher than the pretest at statistically
significant difference .05, 2) the students posttest of problem - solving skills in mathematics
proposition studied by incorporating TAI technique into KWDL technique was higher than the
pretest at statistically significant difference .05, and 3) the students problem - solving skills in
mathematics proposition studied by incorporating TAI technique into KWDL technique was higher
than those with conventional approach at statistically significant difference .05.
