Effectiveness of thai Language contextual Learning course on Creative writing by using Creative writing skill drills for Prathomsueksa 6 students at Praibueng kindergarten school, Praibueng district, Srisaket province
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were; 1) to study the students achievement score on Creative Writing, prior and post treatment by using Creative Writing Skill Drills for Prathomsueksa 6 students at Praibueng Kindergarten school, Praibueng district, Srisaket province, the Office of Srisaket Primary Educational Service Area 3, 2) to study the creative writing ability during the teaching and learning operations by using Creative Writing Skill Drills for the students, 3) to determine the effective index of Creative Writing Skill Drills for the students, and 4) to study the satisfaction on the post treatment of using Creative Writing Skill Drills for the students. The sampling group in this study was Prathomsueksa 6/1 students at Praibueng Kindergarten school, Praibueng district, the Office of Srisaket Primary Educational Service Area 3, in an Academic year 2011, totally 32 students. The instruments consisted of 3 categories; 1) teaching management instruments: Learning Management Plans, and Creative Writing Skill Drills; 2) learning evaluation instruments: students achievement evaluation test, and 3) data collection and analysis instruments: post-lesson records, and a satisfactory survey on learning. Statistics used in analyzing data were; mean percentage, Standard Deviation, and effective index.
Findings:
1. The students achievement score after treatment was higher than prior treatment. Prior treatment, the score was at poor scale level ( = 10.84, 36.15%), which was lower than designated criterion score. The post treatment score was at a high scale level ( = 23.44, 73.24%), which was higher than the designated criterion scoreevery student earned achievement score above the lowest criterion level.
2. The achievement score on creative writing ability after drilling with Creative Writing Skill Drills, between learning sessions, as a whole passed the minimum designated criterion in high score level. The average score was 75.75 and every student earned satisfactory score of minimum designated criterion score level in every exercise (100%). When taking into consideration in each skill drill found that the majority of students passed the designated criterion score in every skill drill.
3. The achievement score of students had changed positively in 66 percent. It earned effective index of Creative Writing Skill Drills equal to 0.66.
4. Students were satisfied with learning in every aspect in high level: the benefits of learning, media of learning, assessment and evaluation, the management of learning activities, and the contexts, respectively.
