Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to study 1) the personal characteristics and the performances of members of the Tumbon council organization committees, 2) the basic characteristics of the Tumbon council organization committees, 3) the opinion of the Tumbon council organization committees on decentralization of local administration as to its effect on work performance and policy planning. The population group is the Tumbon council organization committees of Changwat Nakorn Pathom (284 persons). Results of this research 1. Interms of personal characteristics of the members of the Tombon council organization committees, they are mostly males, under 40 years of age, below the sixth grade of education, farmers and elected members of Tumbon council organization. 2. As for basic characteristics of the Tumbon council organization, they are small, mostly with fewer than 9 villages, 11,857 are mainly peoples and 30 sq.km. of area. The 1995 development budget recieved less than Bht. 1,000,000, most Tumbon council organization committees are autonomus in their management and used the voting process for the allocation of budget. 3. Regarding the opinion of members of the Tumbon council organization Committees on decentralization of local administration, they mainly disagree to the decentralization of the Tumbon council organization. 4. This research also finds that sex, age occupation, position, in organization have relationship with the opinion of members of Tumbon council organization committees towards decentralization.
