Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the effects of Group Career Counseling on Career Readiness of Mathayom Suksa Three students at Prathumthep Vithayakarn Amphur Meaung, Nonkhai Provice, academic year 1993. Twenty students who gained lower mean scores in both the Attitude Scale and the Competence Test from Career Readiness Inventory were randomly assigned into the experimental and the control group, 10 students each. The experimental group participated in Critess Model of Group Career Counseling activities, conducted by the researcher for one hour, 2 sessions per week and for the total of 15 sessions. The instrument used are the Attitude Scale and the competence Test of the Career Readiness Inventory, constructed by John O. Crites. The pretest posttest control group design was used. T-test was Utilized for data analysis. The results indicated that the experimental group, after participating in Group Career Counseling activities gained significantly higher mean scores in Career Readiness Inventory in both the Attitude Scale and the Competence Test than those in the control group, as well as higher than before participating in the activities at .01 level of significance.
