Abstract:
This research focused on the dried squid production and distribution procedures from the fresh squid purchasing process to the dried squid production process exporting to Lao Peoples Democratic Republic (PDR). The study was concerned with the export of dried squids and the obstacles to exporting dried squids to The Lao PDR. This included cost of production, export pricing, and development of new products in The Lao PDR market. The market survey was performed to study the consumption demand of the dried squid in Lao PDR in order to create a proper strategy for the target market. The data collection method of this research included documents research for investigating the environmental factors concerning with the export of dried squids to The Lao PDR and the interview of the dried squid producers. In addition, the interview of the dried squid producers and restaurants. The result showed that the export of dried squids to the Lao PDR is a profitable business investment. The data was collected to determine the quality of dried squid products concerning with freshness, taste, and saltiness and differentiating the products by creating modern packaging. The distribution channel to the restaurants in The Lao PDR is through agents. Finally, the researcher foresaw that the demand of the dried squids in The Lao PDRs market was high and encouraged entry into this business.
