Relationships among reading interest for pleasure, expository writing ability and learning achievement in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students in school under the Jurisdiction of the Department of General Education, Bangkok Metropolis
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were as follows: 1. To study the relationship between reading interest for pleasure and learning achievement in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students. 2. To study the relationship between expository writing ability and learning achievement in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students. 3. To study the relationship between reading interest for pleasure and expository writing ability in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students. 4. To study the relationship between reading interest for pleasure, expository writing ability and learning achievement in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students. The samples of this study were 400 mathayom suksa three students in the 1998 academic year of in school under the Jurisdiction of the Department of General Education, Bangkok Metropolis. The research instruments used in this study were the reading interest for pleasure questionnaire, the expository writing ability test and the learning achievement in Thai language test constructed by the researcher. The data were analyzed by means of Pearson product moment correlation and multiple correlation. The results of this research were as follows: 1. There was positive correlation between reading interest for pleasure and learning achievement in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students at 0.01 level of significance. 2. There was positive correlation between expository writing ability and learning achievement in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students at 0.01 level of significance. 3. There was positive correlation between reading interest for pleasure and expository writing ability in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students at 0.01 level of significance. 4. There was positive correlation between reading interest for pleasure, expository writing ability and learning achievement in Thai language of mathayom suksa three students at 0.01 level of significance.
