Abstract:
The objective of this research was to study the guideline for integrating basic education curriculum B.E 2544, in art area in schools in Bangkok metropolis in the aspects of; the objective of curriculum integration, the characteristic of curriculum integration, the procedure of the curriculum integration, and the model of curriculum integration. The research population were 168 art education teachers in schools in Bangkok metropolis, 12 experts in curriculum development and art educators. The research instruments were questionnaire and interview forms, then the data were analyzed by percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The research findings revealted that the art teachers agreed at the highest level in integrating basic education curriculum in the aspect of the objective, the characteristic, and procedure of curriculum integration. And they agreed at the high level in the aspect of the model of curriculum integration. Art teachers gave more suggestions that were concluded as followings ; The learners should learn by the holistic of knowledge which they could apply in their life and their local area. The medel of curriculum integration should be selected in order to fit and match for learners and learning content. They should be stressed on performance activity with using local materials and including promoting for using in their livings. The opinions of curriculum experts and art educators were as following ; 1) Objective of the integrating curriculum : the objective should be set by using basic education curriculum , and learning standard as the guideline for setting objectives. 2) Characteristic of the integrating curriculum : the learning process should be arranged for students as to their aptitude and interest by combining and integrating content, merit and moral for students to use in their life, Parent and related community should co-operate in learning management. 3) Model of the integrating curriculum : the integrating model of other field of study, which were correlated, should be applied in the integrating basic education curriculum in the art area. 4) Procedure of the integrating curriculum : the procedure should be suitable for integrating basic education curriculum in the art area. The activity should be arranged as the art project.
