Evaluation of user satisfaction of online interlibrary loan service systems employed by the Library and Information Center, The Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University
Abstract:
The objectives of this resarch is : 1) to analyze, design and develop an online interlibrary loan system by CDS/ISIS programming for the Library and Information Center, Faculty of Veterinary, Chulalongkorn University 2) to evaluate the user satisfaction of the online interlibrary loans system in terms of Web service access into the system, processing ILL request, tracking ILL status and the user's suggestion and comment. This study was an experimental research. The online interlibrary loan system was developed with Delphi programming using ISIS_DLL library as an interface with the bibliographic records in CDS/ISIS database. All online services information had were stored in the Microsoft Access database. The sampling population are 101 persons as 18 persons from the ILL librarians of Center of Academic Resources and the other faculty libraries in Chulalongkorn University and 83 members of Faculty of Veterinary, Chulalongkorn University including instructors and graduate students. The results are as follows: all of users were satisfied with all aspects of the system's functionalities, the librarians were highly satisfied to processing ILL request and the users were highly satisfied to tracking ILL request.
