Abstract:
Background: Background An intradermal botulinum toxin injection is a technique of microinjections of diluted botulinum toxin to preserve facial mobility in order to preserve natural beauty. And this technique is widely use for facelift. Between Onabotulinum toxin and Abobotulinum toxin injection which one gives better result in lifting eyebrow with intradermal technique.
Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic result in efficacy and wrinkle at Crows feet, duration of action of intradermal Onabotulinum toxin compared to Abobotulinum toxin injection in the treatment of lifting eyebrow.
Material and Methods: Ten subjects were injected single treatment with intradermal Onabotulinum toxin and Abobotulinum toxin split-face,randomized,double-blind to lift eyebrow at hairline then all enrolled subjects has been measured mean brow height change and taken photograph by VISIA®,measured wrinkle at Crows feet by VISIOSCAN® before and after injection in each follow up visit. Clinical visits were scheduled at immediate after treatment up to 120 days.
Results: There were no significant difference of brow height between Onabotulinum toxin and Abobotulinum toxin for lifting eyebrow with intradermal technique, but there were significant difference between wrinkle at Crows feet after measured by VISIOSCAN® after day 60 and 90 of treatment.(P=0.046 and 0.036 respectively). There was no side effect occurred. Measured brow height at day 120 of follow-up does not decline to baseline.
Conclusion: In lifting eyebrow with intradermal injection technique, Abobotulinum toxin has same efficacy as Onabotulinum toxin but Onabotulinum toxin has higher ability in decrease wrinkle at Crows feet after day 60 and 90 of treatment.Both are consider safe with no side effect. The duration of action is longer than 120 days.
