Abstract: In this study, the grid generations of the simulated stirred tank were done by GAMBIT. The fluid flow fields were calculated by using FLUENT The simulated tank with Rushton turbine and the simulated tank with smaller disc were computed by using RNG k-epsilon model. The results showed that the smaller disc does not significantly affect on flow field. Hence, the smaller disc radius was adopted to design the new impeller geometry. The tanks with new designed blade including 1- orifice blade, 2-orifice blade and 3-orifice blade were studied to obtain the best mixing time. The least mixing time and power requirement were obtained by the tank with 3-orifice blade.
