Abstract:
This research aimed to study 1) the management of human resources cross-culture and work efficiency in the coal industry in Indonesia, 2) relationship between human resources management processes and work efficiency of the coal industry in Indonesia, 3) the relationship between the human resources management and cross-culture in the coal industry in Indonesia and 4) the relationship between cross-culture and work efficiency in the coal industry in Indonesia. The subjects of this study were 105 operating and management staff from 8 companies in the coal industry in Indonesia, which had joint ventures with companies from Thailand. The research instruments were the questionnaire and assessment form. Statistics used for data analysis included confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that the human resources management correlated positively and
influenced the work efficiency. However, cross-culture correlated negatively with the work efficiency and influenced the work performance at the .05 and .01 statistical significant level, and a structural equation model was consistent with empirical data.
