Abstract:
The objective of this special problem A Decision Support System for Cash Management in Automobile Industry Using Decision Tree was to study and develop a system that can suggest suitable choices for cash management. As company executives need to know potential options when making a decision, this system calculates all incomes from sale forecasts, all costs from bills of materials (BOM), cash management policies, and direct / indirect costs. In addition, the calculation of incomes and costs also needs to consider various payment terms of customers and vendors. The balancing amount will be calculated from incomes and expenses. Cash management policies are also taken into consideration for the calculation of the balancing amount. The system then proposes appropriate alternatives to the management team. The three most important factors to be considered when suggesting financial planning alternatives are duration of cash management, interest rate, and minimum/maximum amount of each alternative. The system presents a statement of cash flow in various formats : daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly depending on decision makers needs. The system was evaluated via user satisfaction questionnaires. The average satisfaction score of experts in IT and finance was 4.45, while the average satisfaction score of general users was 4.44. The results showed that experts and general users were satisfied with the decision support system and the system is useful for cash management.
