Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to make comparison of the outpatient department service quality provided by Klongluang Hospital and Lamlukka Hospital. The samples of the study comprised 770 general people over 18 years old, and were divided into two groups i.e. 385 samples used the services of Klongluang Hospital and 385 samples used the services of Lamlukka Hospital. The questionnaire was used as the data gathering tool. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics including Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, as well as inferential statistics consisting of Independent Samples t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Least Significance Differences (LSD).
The results of the study demonstrated that most of the respondents having used the services of the outpatient departments of Klongluang Hospital and Lamlukka Hospital were female, aged over 30- 40 years old, married, completed lower than undergraduate level, were agriculturists or employees, earned a monthly income less than 10,000 Baht. Moreover, it was found that the overall service quality of the outpatient departments provided by Klongluang Hospital and Lamlukka Hospital was at a moderate level. The perception level of the service quality in the aspects of tangibles, responsiveness, and assurance of Klongluang Hospital was higher than these of Lamlukka Hospital, however, the perception level of the service quality of Lamlukka Hospital in the aspect of reliability was higher than that of Klongluang Hospital. The study also indicated no differences in the perception level of the service quality provided by both hospitals in the aspect of empathy at 0.05 level of significance.
