Abstract:
This study has two major purposes: (1) to investigate risk management from earthquake incident of Dongmada sub-district municipality, Mae Lao district, Chiang Rai province (2) to demonstrate the procedure of local community based earthquakes' risk management. The design of this study was a descriptive survey design using the four phases of emergency management in Japan to guide the study. Questionnaires was constructed and used for data collection. The population of 376 in total comprised the victims of earthquake, community leaders and personnel in local public sector in the area of Dongmada sub-district municipality. Frequency, mean, percentage, S.D. and t-test statistic were used for data analysis.
The result reveals that the overall 4 earthquake's risk management, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, were significantly under the world class standard (P > 0.05). However, the local administrative organization based earthquakes' risk management that is necessary and importunate to operate was not as good as significant (P < 0.05).
The method of earthquake's emergency risk arrangement of a local municipality in Thailand should has the effective policy, responsible persons, obviously process of operations in 3 levels such as national, local and personal level, evaluation and improve the means of risk management.
