Abstract:
This research is managing risk of the second-hand car tent business in Chiang Rai province. Its purposes were: (1) To study current situation of the second-hand car tent business in Chiang Rai province, and; (2) To study risk management of the second-hand car tent in Chiang Rai province. Its a qualitative research, collecting data from observation and In-depth Interview from 5 entrepreneurs of the second-hand car tent in Chiang Rai province. The collected data were then analyzed of risk by using Matrix and ranked of risk by using Pareto Diagrams and the theory of Drofman 4T Strategies.
The study results showed that there were 10 factors of risk. They were ranked, and its found that there were 2 factors with a very high level of risk i.e. (1) scarce source of capital and (2) the new car showroom had a lot of promotions to attract customers. There were 2 factors with a high level of risk i.e. (1) employees performance was not to the utmost and lack of efficiency and (2) car selling got loss. Where the researcher had the following suggestions: In running the second-hand car tent business, capital was needed to be in flexible condition; Entrepreneurs of the second-hand car tent business had to have knowledge to be able to see cars condition; Very essential to always study car markets, and; its needed to check cars price and evaluate the sellable duration before each time of buying cars into stock.
