The Causal Relationship Model of Administrators Desirable Competency Affecting Secondary Education Administration as Confined to the ASEAN Declaration among the Schools under Office of the Basic Education Commission
Abstract:
This study aimed: 1) to investigate secondary school administrators desirable competency components, 2) to develop a causal relationship model of administrators desirable competency which affects secondary education administration, and 3) to examine the causal relationship model of administrators desirable competency which affects secondary education administration. This study employed a mixed research methodology. The study was divided into 3 stages: stage 1 investigating the components of administrators desirable competency, stage 2 developing a causal relationship model, and stage 3 examining the causal relationship model. Population in the study was 2,361 secondary school administrators under Office of the Basic Education Commission. A sample of 580 secondary school administrators was selected by multi-stage random sampling. The findings showed as follows: 1) The school administrators desirable competency was composed of 10 aspects as arranged in order from the highest ranking aspect to the lowest one respectively, namely communication and motive aspect, vision aspect, staff-ability development aspect, analysis and synthesis aspect, teamwork aspect, self-development aspect, achievement focus aspect, transformational leadership aspect, language and technology aspect, and good service aspect. 2) The developed causal relationship model of secondary school administrators desirable competency affecting secondary education administration as confined to the ASEAN Declaration was composed of 3 parts: part 1 administrators desirable competency, parts 2 educational administration as confined to the ASEAN Declaration, and part 3 the affecting routes of observable variables. 3) The developed causal relationship model of secondary school administrators desirable competency affecting secondary education administration as confined to the ASEAN Declaration had a significant goodness of fit with the empirical data.
