Relationship between quality of work life and organizational engagement among staff of Airports of Thailand Publiccompany Limited Head Office (Don Mueang)
Abstract:
The independent study was conducted to investigate the level of quality of work life and organizational engagement, the factors that affected the quality of work life and the level of relationship between the quality of work life and organizational engagement among the staff of the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited Head Office (Don Mueang). The sample of the study comprised 300 staffs. The data were collected through the application of questionnaires, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics consisting of Percentage, Means, Standard Deviation, as well as the test of hypothesis using Independent Samples t-test, One-way ANOVA, Least Significant Difference, and Pearsons Correlation Coefficient with the confident level at 95%.
The results of the study showed that the quality of work life of the staff in the aspects of adequate and fair compensation, safe and healthy environment, advancement, job security, possibility of growth, efficiency improvement, and benefits were at the moderate level, but the aspects of social integration, total life space, and social usefulness were at the high level. Moreover, the level of organizational engagement among the staff in the aspects of extreme confidence, attempts of doing any work with total dedication, and high intention were at the high level.
The results of hypothesis testing demonstrated that different gender, age, level of education, marital status, salary, work experience made no differences in the quality of work life, and the quality of work life had a positive relationship with the organizational engagement among of staff at 0.05 level of significance.
