Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to study the level of services provided by the Song Serm Suk Health Promotion Hospital at Kamala, 2) to investigate the problems of the people who received services, and 3) to propose guidelines to improve the quality of hospital services. The sample group consisted of 253 people who were 15 years old and over residing in Thalang Sub-district. Questionnaires were used as tools to collect the data. The statistics employed in analyzing the collected data were frequency, percentage, arithmetic means, and S.D.
The results of the study revealed :
1. The level of the peoples satisfaction with the quality of services as a whole was found to be moderate. When considering each area, the area which was ranked at a high level was facilities. The other areas which were found at a moderate level included services, personnel, and quality of services.
2. The problems that occurred in receiving services provided by the Song Serm Suk Hospital were from services and personnel.
3. The researcher proposed the guidelines to improve the quality of service as follows : Providing services : the hospital should improve the system of services health promotion, controlling, preventing diseases and rehabilitation ; personnel : the hospital staff should work in a team based on the concept of patient centered ; facilities : the hospital should improve its facilities to the standards of the health promotion hospital model ; quality of services : training for the staff are needed in areas involving the standards of the health promotion hospitals.
