Abstract:
The purpose of the research is to study the promotion of democracy in educational institutions in Muang District, Suphanburi Province. The subjects are classified by gender, interval of age, levels of education , years of work and department of educational institutions. The sample groups were 295 teachers on educational institutions in Muang District, Suphanburi Province. Research instruments were questionnaires which had been constructed by the researcher. The obtained data were analysized by mean, standard deviation, t-test and F-test at 0.05 level of significance, Scheffe's method and Kruskal-Wallis test.The major findings are as follows:1. Levels of the promotion of democracy in educational institutions in term of democratic ideology as a whole was high, democratic form of government as a whole was moderate and democratic way of life as a whole was high. Furthermore, problems concerning the promotion of democracy as a whole were moderate.2. The promotion of democratic ideology in educational institutions classified by gender, interval of age, levels of education, years of work and department of educational institutions showed differences. Females promoted it more than males, interval of age 51-55 year olds promoted it more than others. The teachers who had a master degree promoted it more than others. Years of work, 21-25, promoted it more than others. The teachers from tile Office the National Primary Education Commission promoted it more than others.3. The promotion of democratic form of government in educational institutions classified by gender, levels of education, years of work and department of educational institutions were different. Females promoted it more than males. The teachers who had diploma degree promoted it more than others. Years of work, 2 1-25, promoted it more than others. The teachers from the Office the National Primary Education Commission promoted it more than others. But the teachers in different interval of age did not show difference in promotion of democracy.4. The promotion of democratic way of life in educational institutions classified by gender, levels of education, years of work, and department of educational institutions were different. Females promoted it more than males. The teachers who had master degree promoted it more than others. Years of work, 21-25, promoted it more than others. The teachers from the Office the National Primary Education Commission promoted it more than others. But the teachers in different age intervals were not different in promotion of democracy.5. The problems concerning the promotion of democracy in educational institutions classified by gender, interval of age, and years of work were not different. But the teacher with different backgrounds of education, and departments of educational institutions faced different problems concerning the promotion of democracy accordingly.
