Evaluation of teaching and learning management in the Master of Engineering Program in Industrial Management Engineering (Executive Program) Department of Industrial Engineering King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok
Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the teaching and learning management of the
Master of Engineering program in Industrial Management Engineering at King Mongkuts
University of Technology North Bangkok. This study was designed for revising of the program.
The samples were divided into 3 groups. They were 12 lecturers, 72 current students, and 250
alumni. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire developed by the researchers. The
questionnaire consisted of 10 aspects of evaluation with 88 items. The average values of IOC and
Cronbachs α coefficient were .91 and .97, respectively. Data were collected from the lectures
and current students by directly response and from the alumni by e-mail. Data were analyzed by
using mean, standard deviation, and the analysis of variance statistics (ANOVAs). The results
indicated that the overall satisfaction was rated over the high level. There was a significant
difference at the level of .05 on satisfactions of the program among the samples. However, there
were five crucial suggestions given by the samples for program improvement. First, some
information of energy conservation should be included in the program. Second, the iPad and ebooks
should be a complement of the program. Third, all examinations should be conducted
inside the university. Fourth, factory visiting should be at least 2 times. Finally, regular students
should be invited to join all events organized in this program.
