Abstract:
The objectives of this research were : 1) to synthesize an Activity Blended Learning Model
(ABLM) for the System Analysis and Design Course 2) to develop an instuctional set based on the
synthesized model 3) to evaluate the efficiency of the developed instructional set 4) to compare
the students learning achievement between before and after learning with the instructional set
5) to compare the students learning achievement between those learning with the instructional
set and those learning with the conventional teaching method and 6) to evaluate the students
satisfaction after learning with the developed instructional set.
The synthesized model, obtained from Delphi method, consisted of three offline learning
activities; Coaching, Lecture and Coaching, and Lecture and Project; and two online learning
activities; Web Based Instruction and Interactive Generic Content. Subsequently, the development
of instructional set was performed accordingly. The research samples were purposively selected
from 60 undergraduate students at the Rajamangala University of Technology Isan SakonNakhon
Campus, who enrolled in this course in the second semester of academic year 2010. The samples,
then, were equally divided into two groups: the former studied with conventional teaching
method while the latter studied with the developed ABL instructional set. The experiments were
conducted for 15 weeks.
The overall opinion from the experts towards the appropriateness of the synthesized model
is in a very high level. The experts opinion upon the validity of the contents on the instructional
set, on the other hand, is at a high level. The result from the experiments reveals that the efficiency
of the instructional set (E1/E2) is equal to 91.24/89.63, which exceeds the target criteria of 80/80.
The posttest scores of students after learning with the developed instructional set is higher than
those of pretest at the statistically significant level of .01. In additions, the learning achievement
of students who studied with the developed instructional set is higher than those who studied with
the conventional teaching method at the statistically significant level of .01. Finally, the students
satisfaction towards learning with the developed instructional set is at a high level.
